Other Projects at Rally Preparation Services

It’s not often you see a “Big Six” Riley of the ‘Fifties, it’s thought that there are less than half-a-dozen examples in existence, and so a rally-version is a real rarity. This ex-Nigel Broderick 1955 six-cylinder has a Healey-spec engine of around 180bhp, it was prepared originally for the 10th Monte Carlo Challenge and has come into the workshop for a thorough check-over to be campaigned in forthcoming Historic road-events.

Rover SD1 with four Webers... A big noise... an even bigger thirst

Talking of B.M.C., another rare sight was a full works-replica Austin 1800 which we had in the workshop ready for sale, it required a fresh MOT and a general tune-up, the 140 bhp engine was brand new and not run in…the car is now at Andy Actman’s Lenham Sportscars. We also had a works-Rover SD1 in the workshop recently requiring its four Webers balanced. The racket of this beast rattled all the windows around the yard.

Mongolia Allegro
The workshop recently prepared an Austin Allegro for the Mongol Rally - an event where very low budget cars are driven from London to Mongolia for charity. The car arrived on the end of an AA tow-rope, not a good start.  more more
